At laser Engraving ltd we pride ourselves on the ability to adapt to a customers requirement and produce items that would be either too costly or impossible to produce. For one customer, we were able to cut very thin acrylic sheet into small shapes which they had found impossible to achieve by other methods of manufacture. For another we were able to cut a single large precision gasket for a machine which we were able to produce at less than half the cost of traditional methods.

Because of the flexibility and accurate repeatability of this form of cutting, we are not tied down to minimum numbers off, or costly tooling. Obviously each job has its own special requirements but we will endeavour to match your particular requisite.

If you require help with a particular design we can help you there too, fax or email your design and we can advise on a course of action to complete the job.

Anodised Aluminium comes in varied colours and finishes which can normally be engraved by a CO2 laser. Black anodising gives the best effect as it turns white when lasered providing the best contrast of all the colours. Some colours, red for instance, will not turn completely white when laser engraved but produce a light pink colour (however still looks white against the red background, see examples below).
Shown above is a sample laser etch on red anodised extruded aluminium. Note the high quality engraving. The Laser engraving gives an indelible professional finish that printing or traditional engraving can't give.
The advantage of laser engraving, is the ability & flexibility to engrave pictures and in styles that traditional methods would find impossible to do. Example above shows picture engraved into red anodised aluminium.
Oxford Technical Solutions wanted a more duarble high quality finish for their equipment than they had previously managed to achieve.

Laser Engraving has worked closely with them to achieve the high standard of finish their equipment requires. They needed the flexibility to be able to do ones offs' but have the reliability that on a production run the quality and finish remains the same across all the parts. This is the advantage of laser engraving over other methods.

Shown here are another two applications of laser etching. These parts are used on a top formula racing car and need to be uniquely identified. Using the laser we can indelibly mark them without stressing or adding weight, placing the characters where other methods would find impossible.

Shown in the enlarged pictures is the fine detail that can be acheived. The spindle shown below right is just over 8mm in diameter at the point of engraving.

A sample gasket was cut using the laser to profile a unique shape. The versatility of this form of cutting means that accuracy and quality can be maintained what ever numbers are required.
